Hang Gate Mankato, MN

PEAL 19 · PLAZA · DECAY TRUE

Opened 2008

The plaza still smells like the river if the ice just left.

Hang Gate began because Linnea Ostergaard was tired of Mankato players buying a brochure hang and then dropping balls like bricks from Sibley rye.

The first damper was a felt pad leftover from a church repair on Broad. The first strike board was pine. The charter has not changed: decay first, lift second, screens never.

We still will not gate a driver. The loft gates hang-time on scoring faces. Prairie air still eats the overtone while the trunk stays shut overnight. That is the whole story, reprinted every thaw.
